Rain in the Forecast? How to Check Your Cabo Dolphin Visit
See how to check your dolphin visit when rain is forecast, who will contact you, and your three options if the operator cancels.

A weather forecast is not a tour confirmation
A rain icon can make you rethink a family outing, especially when your children are looking forward to meeting the dolphins. Start by separating two questions: what does the forecast say, and has anything changed with your specific reservation? A forecast alone does not confirm that a dolphin session is cancelled or that it will go ahead.
At Dolphin Experience, Federico describes operator cancellations as very rare in his experience. That is reassurance from handling bookings, not a guarantee for a particular date. If you are concerned, ask about your own session rather than trying to decide from a weather app or another traveler’s experience.
Dolphin Experience is an independent booking service. Cabo Adventures operates the dolphin activity. This guide explains how we help with a booking made through Dolphin Experience when weather raises questions about the visit.
Check official notices and your booking messages
Look at the date and location of any weather information you read. An old screenshot or a notice for another area may not describe your plans. For tropical weather, the National Hurricane Center publishes official information for the eastern North Pacific. Weather notices provide context; they are not confirmation of an individual dolphin reservation. Follow instructions issued by local authorities.
For a change affecting your Dolphin Experience booking, Cabo Adventures notifies us, and Federico passes the information on to you. Keep your booking messages and reservation confirmation accessible so you can check an update against the original details. If you are unsure whether a message applies to your visit, contact us with your reference.
You do not need to wait for a cancellation notice to ask a question. Equally, an unanswered question or the absence of a new message is not a separate confirmation of operating conditions. Ask for clarification if you need it before setting off.
Ask about your exact center, date and session
Include your booking reference, the dolphin center, visit date and activity time in one message. Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo are different locations, so “our dolphin tour tomorrow” may not be enough to identify the visit you mean. Use the details on your confirmation.
You can send this message to info@dolphinexperience.mx: “Hello, our booking reference is ____. We are booked at ____ dolphin center on ____ at ____. We have seen rain in the forecast. Could you please check whether there is an operator update for our session and whether our arrival instructions have changed?”
If you arranged transportation, include that in your question too. Ask whether any pickup or meeting instructions need updating; do not assume that a change to the activity automatically settles every separate travel arrangement. Save the reply with the confirmation so all adults in your group follow the same information.
If plans change, confirm the available options in writing
If Cabo Adventures cancels your activity, Dolphin Experience offers three options for your booking: reschedule, change to another activity, or receive a full refund. These options apply when the operator cancels. Seeing rain in the forecast or deciding independently not to attend is not the same situation.
Contact Federico through Dolphin Experience to discuss which option you prefer. For a new date or a different activity, confirm the specific arrangements before treating the replacement as booked. If you choose a full refund, ask for the refund confirmation and the expected processing time; this guide does not promise a fixed number of days.
Keep a short written record: operator cancellation confirmed by ____, option selected ____, next step ____, and confirmation received ____. If you move the visit, check the date, time, center and arrival instructions on the updated confirmation before reorganizing the rest of your day.
Keep your family schedule flexible without assuming a refund
Leave room in your planning for a conversation before making replacement arrangements. A weather question does not itself change your booking. Wait for the relevant confirmation, and share the agreed plan with the people traveling with you.
If you want to change or cancel for your own reasons while the operator is still running the session, contact us about the conditions for your reservation. The three operator-cancellation options above should not be read as a promise of a refund for every change of plan.
The useful next step is simple: keep your reference handy, check information for your exact visit, and ask us when something is unclear. That gives your family a concrete plan without turning a forecast into a promise about what will happen.
